---Combat specs---
Zanpakutō: Akatsuki (Red Moon)
Spirit: Akatsuki herself is a cat-sized jet-black fennec fox with blood red eyes and a red crescent-moon on her forehead, the opening of which points vaguely to her left ear. Her personality is plenty stern and somewhat demanding. She is cool under pressure and, if ignored, would sit back and watch quietly as even thousands are slaughtered just to teach Shiro a lesson. To Akatsuki, every life is precious, none more so than that of Shiro Ishiyama himself, for more reasons than most people seem to know, but it is evident that her relationship with him is more personal than just two allies fighting together. Akatsuki is also very much a perfectionist towards her own actions, becoming very much sore-spirited whenever she makes a mistake and, afterwards, sulking for quite some time, even sometimes to the point of ignoring Shiro's calls when he is in need of her help.
Akatsuki is also the only Zanpakutō spirit currently known to be able to manifest herself in a physical form as well as change into a human at will.
Sealed state: Akatsuki's sealed state looks like a regular katana with a black handle and blade and a crimson wrapping. The sheath is also black with red trimming and wrapping, all matching Shiro's garbs.
Shikai: Akatsuki has three Shikai release commands in which her scabboard becomes an effective upgrade or part of Shiro's arsenal.
Rise: Akatsuki combines with her scabbard to take the form of a black and red zanbatō. By cutting the ground with Rising Akatsuki's blade, Shiro can employ various rock and earth based attacks. The term "rise" can be related to the rising numerical value of the weapon's length.
Eclipse: Akatsuki's scabbard takes the form of a large, coffin-shaped shield mounted on the back of Shiro's left arm. The "head" of the shield is closest to Shiro's elbow (Actually extending a ways past it) while the foot is curved over his fist to provide a blunt striking weapon for countering. The term "eclipse" can be related to the shield's usage by moving in front of the body to effectively cover or "eclipse" it from attack.
Set: Akatsuki's scabbard changes into a second, somewhat shorter off-hand blade which Shiro often uses in a position completely opposite of Akatsuki's main body. The term "set" can be related to Setting Akatsuki's form of a two-piece katana set, however this is not to say that the Japanese term for a set of katana will unlock Setting Akatsuki, as the term literally refers to the setting of the moon.
Dash: Shiro can also employ the powers of all three states by using the incantation "Rise and Eclipse, and Set into the Dawn, Akatsuki." This allows him to enter "Dash" mode, in which he can, for a short time, switch the form of his Shikai at will without using an incantation. The effect of this power is said to be equal in usefulness to his Bankai.
Bankai: Akatsuki's entire form, scabbard and all, becomes a seemingly infinitely long, bladed chain which can be used for blocking, snaring, and attacking all at once. It appears to be connected to Shiro's person like a tail, however is only held in place on one end by spiritual power and never actually makes direct physical contact to Shiro's tail-section. Initially, this Bankai is very dangerous for Shiro, as it has no handle and no way of being safely gripped. However, as Shiro's skill with controlling his spiritual pressure increases, he gains the additional abilities to both grip the chain safely and even use it without ever actually touching it.
Resurrección: It is implied through Akatsuki herself that Shiro's Zanpakutō may have a Resurrección form similar to the Arrancar, which would explain the incomplete appearance of Shiro's true Hollow form.
--
Vizard powers: As a Vizard, Shiro can employ the use of both Shinigami and Hollow powers, the latter of which surfaced only months before his exile from the Soul Society.
Mask: Shiro's hollow mask resembles the skull of a North African dessert "fennec" fox. Its eye-holes are extremely narrow
Inner Hollow: Shiro's inner Hollow is highly sadistic and has virtually no sense of honor. Borderlining insanity, he fights like a beast rather than a human, rarely ever touching Akatsuki, but instead using her Bankai form as a prehensile tail, thus leaving his hands open to grapple and scratch his opponents. Shiro's inner Hollow will not, however, attack the one person Shiro holds dear, the Arrancar named Ruriko.
Hollow form: Shiro's Hollow form is that of a vaguely humanoid fox, having human hands but a four-legged posture. This form seems to lack a fox-like tail, however this may be due to an incomplete transformation. It is possible that the implied Resurrección form of Akatsuki may very well be the missing tail, or tails.
Speed: Very high
Strength: Medium
Agility: High
Endurance: High
---Character information---
Personality: Shiro is often very distant and sometimes quite dark, even morbid. Inside, his is good-natured, kind, and generous, however the conditions which saw him exiled also saw him changed greatly, a fact which Akatsuki implies on one occasion.
Shiro is not that easily confused, but when he is, it is evident just by the fox-like look of confusion which tends to flash across his face. He is very stubborn and opinionated, often requiring drastic measures to get him to listen, such as allowing him to make fatal mistakes in important situations.
Shiro has a strong sense of justice, but also a slight taste for revenge, as he often browbeats his inner Hollow in more ways than one for having gotten him exiled even though it was an accident.
After his exile, Shiro became a loner, rejecting the friendship of the Vizard and initially attempting to drive away Ruriko, who completely refused to leave.
Tendencies and quirks:---
* Shiro often tends to sit spread-legged on the floor, leaning back against his palms, usually having one leg folded.
* Often-times, Shiro tends to drool in his sleep, often discouraging Akatsuki from taking a "teddy bear" position at his chest when they sleep.
* Shiro almost always squints his eyes when in thought or when annoyed.
Birth and childhood: Little is known about Shiro's youth, except that he was raised in a fairly wealthy family, but was never truly spoiled, regardless of what people may have said. It is not said which family Shiro comes from, however it is very possible that he is in some way related to Captain Gin Ichimaru due to their similar looks (Both hair color and eye color and structure) as well as statements by others that Gin and Shiro could easily pose as relatives.
Academy years: Shiro was an incredibly bright student and the pride of his teachers, though he often was very stubborn about doing things his own way, a trait which often got him into trouble.
Squad duty: Shiro served for a long time in Squad three under Gin Ichimaru's command, eventually working his way up to 3rd Seat. He drew close to two other Shinigami, one from Squad four and the other unknown as of current. Just as he unlocked his second Shikai, however, he also began to display the ability to use Hollow powers. This was something he revealed to no one but his two friends and never used again after that day. Eventually, however, Shiro and his friends were attacked by a powerful Hollow. Shiro was nearly killed, but made a deadly comeback as his own inner Hollow manifested within him and quickly slew the enemy Hollow, in the process ending the lives of both of Shiro's friends, something he never forgave the Hollow for. Gin Ichimaru and his lieutenant learned of Shiro's Hollow powers and so did the court, eventually resulting in Shiro's being exiled from Soul Society.
Since exile: Shiro began to wander from place to place, killing any Hollows he possibly could. Eventually, he was struck down by a powerful Hollow and rescued by a beautiful girl named Ruriko. Later, Ruriko accidentally revealed herself to be a Hollow when Shiro caught her bathing without any clothing. Abhorred that he had made friends with something he was sworn to destroy, he attempted to slay the girl, but found himself unable to strike another of his friends even though his first friends' deaths were accidents caused by his inner Hollow. Shiro left Ruriko's company in search of other Hollows to destroy as well as a gesture of "friendly mercy" as he would put it. Ruriko followed and refused to leave and after a week, Shiro gave in, allowing Ruriko to be his traveling companion. Ruriko stated early off that the only reason she did not run herself through with Akatsuki's blade and cleanse herself when she met him was for his benefit, not hers.
Other information:---
* Though Shiro Ishiyama's eyes are similar in structure to Gin Ichimaru's, they usually remain open at all times. Shiro does, however, squint when in thought or when upset.
